Dynamic Pricing!

Configuring pet care pricing for any booking system can be administratively challenging. There are often many variations that can change the price of a service offered. Some of these can be handled by packages or add-ons - like providing a discounted package of 10 daycare stays, or charging more for the nail trim add-on.

In some cases those types of adjustments cannot work - what if you want a single service for grooming, but need to charge more for a large dog? Or if you want to provide a flat 10% discount for specific members or specialty clients? You may even need to charge more for clients who's pets have special needs and you've tagged them as such, or for visits that are outside of your service range.

You can do all of this and more with the new Dynamic Pricing functionality. Available on subscribed Team and Business plans. Learn more by reading the help article.

Multi-Pet Intake Forms

Intake Forms may now be created as single pet forms (the current standard) allowing you to place form fields in any order. They may also be created as multi-pet forms, separating client and pet fields but allowing the client to add information on up to 10 pets.

As always, these forms can be sent individually or included within the booking process to gather information on all pets being registered.

New Functionality and Quality of Life Updates:

  • Custom data attributes appearing on the client profile can now be reordered and hidden.
  • Added functionality to set timeframe for automated billing - both future and past limits.
  • Merging clients will now remove stored cards to protect against intentional or accidental improper usage.
  • Merging clients cancels and deactivates any active memberships on the client profile being merged. Memberships on the profile being merged into will remain. Payment methods (if stored) will need to be re-entered.
  • Major updates to back-end systems to greatly improve performance and responsiveness. Reducing occurences of timeouts for large database requests (mostly related to messaging).

Resolved Feature Issues:

  • Fixed issue with saving payment terms on invoices which would default to Due upon receipt.
  • Fixed issue where some mail would fail to sync with app.
  • Fixed issue where invoice subtotals would calculate incorrectly with tax inclusive pricing.
    Fixed issue where booking details were not included with SMS boarding pickup reminders.
  • Fixed issue with blocked times not effectively blocking all bookings with 15 minute intervals.
  • Fixed issue where large incoming emails (25MB+) would be rejected by the mail server.
  • Fixed issue where a client could book using the public calendar to book outside of the services' set available booking window.

New Approach for Custom Attributes

Today we've launched an update to how custom data attributes are created and updated on client and pet profiles.

Previously all fields created for Intake Forms would populate client and pet profiles with submitted data and could be updated by editing the profile. Now this relationship is separate.

Fields on Intake Forms may still update custom attributes saved on client profiles, but it is not required. And you may choose which attributes to display on client and pet profiles.

Manually updating attributes is easier as well, having moved from the edit profile page to a modal window on the profile itself. You may organize these fields in a way that suits your business as well!

Automatic Billing and Payment Terms

Ever wish the software could charge clients on the day of their booking, or charge weekly for services used, and do so automatically?

Now BusyPaws can do this and more. Payment Terms allow you to customize due dates for full or partial payments on any invoice - and automate collection of those terms by charging stored cards. Read more about configuring Payment Terms in the Help Center.

Automated Billing allows you to set a frequency to issue new invoices (Daily/Weekly/Monthly), generates preview invoices nightly for clients who have uninvoiced bookings in the past or future and combined with Payment Terms can automatically collect payment when issued or at a date thereafter!   • Using the "Apply Credits" button at the top of the page for a Series, credits will be reserved for all bookings within the Series.
  • Report Cards can now be created for selected pets and any number of times for a single booking.
  • Tips report now contains links directly to associated Invoices.
  • New tab added to bookings for Individual Services: Filled Intake Forms
  • Broad improvements to performance for Reports and Segments. These changes also improve responsiveness and uptime of core functions like the calendar
  • Vaccine and Birthday client notifications adjusted to send at noon account local time

Tasks are a new feature within BusyPaws to enable you to track and assign the most important activities that need to be accomplished within your business.

@mention or assign team members to ensure they receive notifications and updates, tag #clients or ##pets to generate quick links to their respective profiles.
